Equality
Chloé Lailic, in charge of the Equality thematic at INSA Rennes
These actions adopt an intersectional approach to discrimination (class, gender, disability, age, ethnic or geographical origin, sexual orientation, etc.).
She works:
- to raise awareness;
- organizing highlights and training;
- supporting, facilitating, and highlighting the actions of the feminist and LGBTQIA+ movements on campus.
Concerning students, the scope extends from the conditions of admission to the establishment, to student life and the conditions of professional integration and career development. One of the objectives of the mission is, in this sense, to train students to defend themselves and to fight against the discrimination that they would experience or that they would witness in their future professional environment as well as in their personal life.
Concerning staff, the emphasis is on raising awareness and training on gender equality issues, and the fight against discrimination and sexist, sexual violence and LGBTQphobia. The scope extends from recruitment to relationships between colleagues, between teacher-researchers and students, and in hierarchical relationships.
Examples of actions:
- setting up and running a system to combat harassment and sexist, discriminatory and sexual violence at INSA Rennes;
- Man/Female Management training offered by Companieros, for INSA engineering students sensitive to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) issues to obtain the label;
- production and distribution of a guide to combat sexism at INSA Rennes. Follow Bastien, Julie, Yuri, Loubna and all the others, from their first steps on campus in 1st year until their entry into the professional world.
"It's all these little everyday things, which sometimes are just words, jokes, a gesture that we have tried to highlight in this guide in order to learn to recognize them and better avoid them - Le Club INSAtisfait (e)s"
- Girls & Maths day, launched by the associations "Women and Mathematics" and "Animath" to encourage high school girls to pursue studies in mathematics, and more generally in science: reception of around a hundred high school girls who came to meet female engineers , students and teachers in mathematics;
- organization of a film debate of the film “Breaking the Silence of the amphitheaters” on the occasion of the international day against gender-based and sexual violence (November 25).
